Position Overview:

The DC Power Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business and providing account management and developing on-going business relationships with Utility, Telecom, and UPS customers as well as with their contractors.   The key focus for the person in this role is to deliver exceptional technical support and customer service.  Knowledge in DC Power Solutions, Telecom, Switchgear and Control, and Batteries is a must.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Prospect new leads and new business relationships with Utility, Telecom, and UPS End-users, key Electrical Engineers, and Electrical Contractors for the purpose of maintaining and/or improving revenue and gross margin
  • Develop business relationships with key supplier personnel to ensure products and services are efficiently built and delivered as required by customers
  • Deliver effective presentations on new products to existing and new customers
  • Troubleshoot product and service related issues by being the bridge between customers and manufacturers
  • Strong emphasis on proactive communication with the Standby Sales Manager & other Sales Management, informing of any important developments with vendors or customers
  • Accurately forecast expected sales on a monthly basis
  • Involve Sales Management in customer visits when practical
  • Maintain excellent records, manage receipts and expense reports, and submit to accounting department on a monthly basis
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

 

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of DC Power Solutions, Telecom, Switchgear and Control, Batteries and C&D Technologies and familiarity with complementary and competitive products
  • Solid computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Office products

 

Education and Experience:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent, technical degree preferred but not required
  • 5 years of proven experience in a technical sales role
