Summary:

The Director of Operations role is to successfully deliver all of the products and services that the company offers. This includes the leadership and management of all operational staff (design & contraction teams), project clients (internal & external) and project partners; the development, implementation and management of all of company operational processes and systems; the quality and cost control of all committed projects and ensuring NLS achieves all risk management goals and objectives.

 

Specific responsibilities:

 

Lead, Manage and hold Accountable (LMA)

  • Build and sustain capable and productive management and project delivery teams: Hire, fire, train, reward, discipline operations staff.
  • Coach direct reports to become accomplished leaders and managers. Support the development of future leaders and managers at all levels of operations.
  • Implement and manage EOS in the operations department 
  • Ensure personal and team metrics/targets/goals are met.

  • Ensure our clients are being well managed (open, clear and frequent communication).
  • Develop and maintain effective systems for client interaction and feedback. Ensure key interactions and decisions are appropriately documented and well organized.
  • Consistently seek feedback from our clients and project partners (subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, etc.) in accordance with our company Quality Management System.

 

Project Delivery

  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
  • Contract management
  • Resource management
  • Manage the overall flow of work (scheduling, logistics, deliverables, checklists, etc.)
  • Co-ordination with other departments (Finance/Admin and Business Development)

 

Process and Quality Management

  • Build and maintain an effective Quality Management System for the company that ensures the delivery of our proven process 
  • Work towards obtaining certification of ISO 9001 and 140001 (2015).
  • Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.

 

 

Financial Management

  • Build, maintain and continuously improve an effective Project Financial Management system (budgeting, estimating, pricing, change management, etc.)
  • Support the development of annual budgets and gross margin targets. Ensure the financial targets are achieved.
  • Oversight and approval of all monthly progress billing.
  • Approve the final project pricing.

 

Risk Management/Safety

  • Development and implementation of our Company Safety System (companywide and project specific).
  • Organize and coordinate external audit program for COR certification. Ensure NLS meets safety objectives
  • Manage NSC compliance requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.

  • Meet and exceed our clients' expectations. Ensure that every client is satisfied with the services and products they received from New Line Skateparks and that every client can be used as a reference.
  • Ensure that we have the proper human and other resources in place to effectively and efficiently meet our organizational targets and get all the work done.
  • Negotiate and maintain strong contracts to ensure that our people and assets are protected.
