Position Overview:

The Inside Equipment Sales Representative is a key member of the Equipment Sales team, planning strategies and developing compelling sales proposals and submittal packages. The person in this role helps develop business relationships with engineers, contractors, distributors, and end users, expanding the customer base and contributing to the growth of the company. The Inside Equipment Sales Representative focuses on exceptional internal and external customer service.

 

Reporting Relationship: The Inside Equipment Sales Representative reports to the VP of Sales

 

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop business relationships with key engineers, contractors, distributors, and end users for purpose of maintaining and/or improving favored spec position and competitiveness
  • Develop business relationships with key manufacturer personnel to collect inofmration to make the most competitive customer proposals, and to ensure products and services are efficiently built and delivered as required by customers
  • Generates quotes and proposals,  and perform follow-up functions
  • Develops detailed submittal packages that meet or exceed customer requirements 
  • Proactively communicates with VP of Sales, informing him/her of any important developments with vendors or customers 
  • Executes sales pipeline and activity reports on weekly basis                                                                                        
  • Maintains excellent records, manage receipts and expense reports, and submits to accounting on a monthly basis

 

Requirements:

 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge in generator equipment sales and familiarity with complementary and competitive products
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Travel expectations:

  • Limited Travel Required

Posting Qualifications:

  •  4 year college or university degree, or related work experience
  • 5 years of excellence in a sales and marketing environment in an equipment sales or related market 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • CRM software proficiency required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
