Position Overview: 

The Electronic Assembler will be responsible for soldering electronic components, wires, etc. onto circuit boards. This person will use various tools and equipment, as well as maintain safety and quality requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform any combination of the below-listed tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems.
  • Read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Perform on-line go/no-go testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • May perform assembly operations under microscope or another magnifying device.
  • Hand soldering wires and components onto printed circuit boards.
  • Use cutting tools to separate circuits.
  • Affix adhesive backing tape to circuits.


Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience with SMT and/or PTH soldering
  • 1-2 years' experience in hand placement and soldering in production
  • Understand job packet documentation (routings and Bills of Materials)
  • Basic electronic configuration recognition
  • ESD protection knowledge
  • Must be able to read and write in English language and accurately perform basic math problems
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.


Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • IPC-610 training/certification
  • Good finger dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
  • Electronic component assembly cables and harnesses
  • Hot air rework station
  • Pneumatic solder paste
  • Electronic testing (DVM)
