Position Overview: 

The Process Engineer is responsible for taking ownership of all manufacturing processes, maintaining their reliability and safety, while continually striving to improve them in quality, efficiency, reliability, etc.  Process ownership is compelled by living the processes through the additional responsibility for daily prioritizing, organizing, coordinating, and directing production materials and human resources throughout plant to optimize workflow, quality and output.


  • Enable manufacturing to meet daily productivity goals by prioritizing, organizing, coordinating, and directing materials and human resources throughout the workday to optimize workflow, quality and output.
  • Coordinate production activities with Sales Administration, Production Planning, and Shipping & Receiving.
  • Perform training of production staff to provide for substantial cross-training.
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing processes.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop innovative solutions for improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
  • Work with manufacturing and engineering to specify, develop, test and implement new and enhanced capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain and manage work instructions, quality standards, and process documents.
  • Prepare samples for study.
  • Collect, record, and analyze data, including working with suppliers as needed.
  • Write reports on data analysis, RMA and quality investigations, and process qualifications.
  • Maintain testing equipment.
  • Support coordination of equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Provide suggestions during incident investigations.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure projects are completed to requirements and on time.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure financial budgets are followed.
  • Research new manufacturing process technologies.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Sc. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, quality control, process control, statistical analysis, non-destructive testing
  • Demonstrated ability to perform high level mathematical problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise processes
  • Ability to present technical information
  • Experience using CAD (Solidworks/Catia preferred)
  • Able to follow detailed work instructions
  • Perform Process Planning
  • Work with Bills of Materials
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well with and interact confidently with others
  • Good working knowledge of personal computers and standard office software with ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
