Position Overview:

The Business Development Representative will report to the Sales Manager and is responsible for generating new leads for the Company.  The person in this role will conduct research, build target prospect lists, cold-call, and schedule meetings for the Field Sales Representatives.  The Business Development Representative's goal is to help the sales team build a new clients base and to increase market share.



  • Develops new business leads through the use of databases, tools, and research
  • Manages CRM database to qualify leads and set appointments
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies to support business growth through lead generation
  • Establishes relationships with prospects by initiating communication, conducting follow up interaction and moving opportunities through the sales funnel
  • Prepares and analyzes sales pipeline reports and dashboards, working with the Sales Manager
  • Effectively uses CRM tools to manage account activity
  • Engage in weekly 1:1 meetings with FSR's to ensure quality of leads






  • Strong prospecting skills, ability to break through potential customer rejections
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with high energy and thrives on multi-tasking
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience with CRM or database is a plus
  • Solid computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Office products



Education and Experience:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent, technical degree preferred but not required
  • 1-2 years in a professional role or business environment or internship experience
