Position Overview:

The role of the Sales Engineer/Estimator will be to support both internal and external customers with the efficient application of products for the security industry.  The Sales Engineer/Estimator will work in partnership with the account manager, customers and project managers to deliver and document the technical details of the proposed solution. 

 

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Assists the Sales Team in determining the best solution for the security system design.
  • Develop the functional details including parts and labor required for the full solution design.
  • Research new products and features to provide the most current technology.
  • Be a subject matter expert to assist the sales team in customer presentations and site surveys. 
  • Work with the CAD designer to document pre-sales as well as post-sales materials for submittals. 
  • Participate in job kickoff meetings to collaborate with the project managers and technical leads on the design requirements. 
  • Be a resource to the System Implementation Team for design interpretations and field change orders.

 

Requirements:

  • Two-year Technical Degree preferred.
  • 2 Years or more of experience in the security field working with technology.

 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Previous experience working with card access, video surveillance, intercoms and alarms systems.
  • Experience with CAD is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
