Position Overview:

We are seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee operations, delivery, and fleet. This individual will be a leader of the operations team and partnering with other leaders and the Production Manager to create efficiency and optimization for their clients, mostly high-end grocers and restaurants in the Twin Cities area.




  • Deliver transportation productivity by focusing on asset optimization, improving fuel economy, payload efficiency, route optimization & wait time reduction 
  • Deliver customer service targets, shipping and delivering loads on time 
  • Negotiate 3rd party carrier capacity and rates, ensuring compliance to established route guides
  • Assume ownership of all logistics and delivery related cost and productivity targets; provide forecasts and analysis related to transportation department 
  • Develop effective relationships with internal partners (i.e. sales, fresh ops, warehouse, billing) 
  • Assist in the development of projects that provide for continuous improvement across transportation 
  • Work proactively with Sales Reps to understand the needs of the customer and the sales force 


  • Coach drivers on customer service and safe and efficient driving techniques; ensuring safety, regulatory and DOT compliance

  • Respond to customer calls regarding deliveries and ensure 100% customer service 
  • Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily
  • Coach, lead and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity via door-to-door route rides twice a week, minimum 


  • Optimize vehicle maintenance identify supplier for preventive maintenance and repair.   
  • Own vehicle specification and purchase process 
  • Demonstrates knowledge in troubleshooting, repair requirements and preventative maintenance for fleet equipment 
  • Ensures equipment and individual compliance with all environmental, Department Of Transportation (DOT) and Health and Safety regulations 
  • Achieves or exceeds target results related to cost, asset preservation, breakdown, preventative maintenance and vehicle availability, including vehicle acquisition 


  • A Bachelor's degree is required 
  • Four years' of transportation industry experience is required including dealing with legal, regulatory and operational issues, including customer service, logistics and carrier operations is required 
  • Four years' experience managing front-line employees is strongly preferred 
  • Knowledge of DOT (Department Of Transportation) regulations is preferred 
  • Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and influence management skills 
  • Incumbent should have a strong customer focus and be results driven 
  • Incumbent must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks without losing momentum while also completing all daily tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends 
  • Demonstrate strong oral, written and interpersonal skills 
  • Possess very strong organizational and prioritizing skills 
  • Have a highly developed sense of urgency 
  • Demonstrated results in improving business performance through leadership
