Opportunity Overview:

Our client, a fast-growing custom metalworking company, is looking for a Quality Technician to join their team at their Lakeville, MN location. They invest in their people, their equipment, and their facilities to make sure that their clients are getting the best value and best products. This individual will be responsible for inspecting, evaluating and documenting the quality of parts and products in relation to required customer specifications.

Required Skills:

  • Graduation from high school (or equivalent) plus two (2) years of related technical training.  
  • Minimum two (2) years directly related experience programming CMM.
  • At least two (2) years of recent manufacturing production/quality experience which includes the following skills and abilities:
  1. Experience and knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in tool and die manufacturing operations.
  2. Experienced in the use of computer-aided inspection equipment.
  3. Strong working knowledge of WINDOWS, MS OFFICE, and E-mail.
  4. Be able to identify problems and collectively find the resources necessary to solve them.
  5. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  6. Strong ability to do basic math and trigonometry functions and accurately read, understand and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  7. Strong ability to establish, encourage and maintain effective working relationships with others. Be able to work independently and cooperatively.

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process of reviewing all first article and production parts prior to submission to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with shift leaders to address or initiate action on any technical quality related issues.
  • With guidance from Plant Managers organizes and prioritizes FAI's.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all customer quality expectations and is a resource in conveying these standards to the shop floor.
  • Train as necessary to ensure departmental effectiveness.
  • Is a resource to toolmakers in providing information helpful for development or completion of tooling.
  • Follows through on non-conforming issues, ensuring customer's needs are met.
  • Work to continuously expand knowledge of parts, inspection methods, tooling processes, and any information affecting the production of quality products.
  • Set examples for others to follow; regarding teamwork, safety, work standards (performance expectations), and awareness to mission statement. Set examples for compliance to Quality System and Processes.
  • Maintains all inspection records and customer required documentation.
