Opportunity Overview:  

On behalf of First National Bank, CorTalent has been retained to find a Human Resources leader to drive major initiatives within the organization. As a very successful privately-owned bank, the culture is made of a close group of individuals and leaders. First National is family oriented and relationship driven. We are seeking someone who is a visionary and change-maker within their environment. This individual will be an influencer of culture and have expertise in compensation planning and analysis. The leader will be responsible for the oversight and execution of the Bank's Employee Experience function, including developing business strategies and providing leadership as the Bank strives to grow and fulfill its mission. They will be a key player on the Executive team to champion, build, and reinforce the Bank's culture. Additionally, they will serve as a key strategist and functional leader by partnering with executive team members across the organization to collaboratively and proactively evaluate and support business needs.  Providing advice, counsel and guidance to create an enduring, highly-productive, ethical, engaged, customer-focused and results-oriented organization is essential.  They will be in collaboration with the Executive team establish the vision and define organization-wide strategic imperatives to support the Bank's success and growth.

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Human Resource certifications are a plus 
  • Expertise with compensation analysis, planning, and development 
  • Proven success with change management and culture projects 
  • Leading a team, division, and organization is required 

 

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Champion and lead the strategy for consistently building, reinforcing, and safeguarding the Bank's culture.  Develop strategies that support engagement with the four stakeholder in mind (customer journey, employee experience, community relations, and shareholder relations) to inspire a sales and growth environment.  Partner with leadership to ensure that quality improvement and change management skills are an integral part of our culture and teams. 
  • Provide strategic leadership to the areas of Employee Experience and Talent Development.  Lead, motivate and empower these areas to turn strategic initiatives into actionable and accountable behaviors.  Effectively use data, metrics and analysis to develop and drive strategic aligned projects and initiatives. 
  • Serves as a talent architect promoting succession and workforce planning at all levels.  Develop strategies that support talent bench strength and provide ongoing and constant coaching and mentoring of leadership and talent at all levels to foster ethical, high-performing and engaged teams. 
  • Continuously build our culture and communicate the Bank's strategic plan and how each employee's job contributes to the execution of the Bank's strategic plan and the results achieved. 
  • Provides guidance in building a world class training and professional development program across the organization.  Advocates long-term success through growth and favorable financial performance by encouraging ongoing learning and aligning goals with the business strategies. 
  • Drive the development of strategic total rewards offerings, programs and practices, ensuring market competitiveness by considering relevant trends in base pay and incentive pay while achieving return on investment.  Works with executive team members to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. 
  • Leads the initiative to be an "Employer of Choice" through regular listening and response to the employee engagement survey, action-planning and follow-though for improvement. 
  • Consult, advise, and participate in the Bank's overall management by working with other senior management in committee, task force, and informal meeting environments to assure continuity, communication, and unity. 
  • Be a central hub for mentoring, aligning, and deconflicting operating unit priorities and goals and building and maintaining operating unit and organization-wide VTOs. Ensure that individual unit V/TOs clearly align with and support the organization's V/TO and strategic priorities. 
  • Build and consult on compensation strategy across the organization. Be an ongoing advocate for leaders and individuals across the Bank.
