Position Overview

The Fire Protection Design Manager will design, coordinate, and project manage the fire sprinkler systems for commercial and residential buildings. This position requires an individual who has a passion for fire safety as well as being a highly organized individual with the ability to develop, design, oversee, train and manage multiple projects. They will design and create the finished representation for the sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. In addition, this individual will be a subject matter expert and will lead the training and development of the entry level designers.



  • Accurately design fire protection systems.
  • Manage the entire scope of a project setting specific deadlines and deliverables throughout the duration of a given project.
  • Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or HydraCAD type programs
  • Utilize knowledge of surveying, system design, drawing preparations, and mathematical calculations to plan and execute projects.
  • Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements
  • Responsible for efficient and cost-effective design to meet all jurisdiction requirements.
  • Oversight of all work orders and procedural manuals to determine dimensions of design.
  • Coordinate and conduct all client and jobsite meetings.
  • Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices
  • Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers' expectations
  • Maintain and submit all permits required through the duration of a project.
  • Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally throughout the organization.



  • Detail-oriented and ability to perform efficient design with accuracy.
  • Proficient with CAD software, Autosprink, or Hydratech.
  • Proven ability to train and develop entry level designers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple designs/projects at a time
  • Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines
  • Exemplary communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Professional etiquette and enthusiastic attitude.
