Position Overview:

The Decoration and Art Lead role is responsible for managing the successful fulfillment of decoration orders from concept through completion.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Enter all components of a decoration order into Apparel Magic (A/M). Follow up with customers to obtain missing information.
  • Ensure all art supplied is appropriate for decoration method. Assist in logo/art/file updates as needed. Create new art if requested.
  • Order digitizing for logos; evaluate old and new DST files to ensure satisfactory output for specific garment/fabric; select thread colors.
  • Order heat seals for projects and maintain inventory for future orders.
  • Traffic all decoration orders from PO to delivery with sense of urgency; keep timelines updated in A/M.
  • Provide necessary information to decoration vendors; foresee scheduling conflicts and production issues and take quick action to adjust project schedule/vendor selection
  • Keep customers/sales reps updated on projects as needed.
  • Build/maintain Company's decoration processes; Implement and train on decoration processes & procedures.
  • Continually research/learn best decoration techniques for company's styles. Maintain detailed knowledge of all fabrics and considerations to achieve best quality decoration on each. Seek out new vendors where needed.
  • Maintain customer decoration pricing.
  • Establish and review metrics to measure decoration output and profitability. Monitor costs and work with owners to maximize profit.
  • Coordinate communication and information sharing among other internal teams; elicit customer feedback with the goal of improved decoration services.



  • Degree in Business/Management or related, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of related industry experience.
  • Computer skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (strong Excel proficiency), Adobe Creative Suite, and fast learner of ERP and Decoration software.
  • Knowledge of decorating processes including embroidery, screen print, heat transfer and laser etching; digitizing experience a plus.
  • Appreciation for brand standards and ability to use design skills create virtuals, proofs as well as modify/create new art for customers.
  • An eye for color and ability to match colors across all mediums.
  • Super organized with exceptional attention to detail, while managing multiple projects at once.
  • Contributing team member and confident communicator, capable of effectively manage vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and comfort dealing with customers' escalated issues.
  • Positive attitude and passion for over-the-top service.
