Opportunity Overview:

We've been retained by a small second generation family owned business in the Twin Cities. This is a big opportunity to make real impact on the business and have high visibility to leadership. This position is responsible for accurate and timely responses to quotation requests, including price, delivery schedule, and sales teams. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable working closely with customers, salespeople, and vendors to clearly understand product specifications. Applies knowledge of company operations and math skills required to determine material yields and labor hours necessary to produce customer orders. The candidate must have an eye for detail, a passion for quality work, and the drive to contribute to the team's success.

Responsibilities:

  • Has frequent contact with customers, salespeople, and vendors to collect necessary information
  • Prepares quotes by gathering proposals, dimensional data, engineering drawings, material specifications, and related documents
  • Calculates labor, material and time requirements by understanding appropriate fabrication methods and selected material(s)
  • Establishes product pricing aligned with company philosophy and goals as directed by management
  • Uses company ERP software to create Quotes, Enter Item Masters, Bill of Materials, and Routings
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Present clear proposals using concise descriptions of what is being offered to customers
  • Works closely with vendors to understand products, pricing, and services
  • Supports customer service department through order processing and other requests when called upon  
  • Creates, maintains, and continually reviews Item Masters to ensure information is accurate and current
  • Keeps detailed records of source information, quotes from vendors, internal and external information
  • Evaluates and responds to requests from production for changes to production routings
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Ability to analyze information and solve problems
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Ability to learn and comprehend applications, materials, and manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently with general guidelines
  • 2 years of work experience in a related role or industry type
  • Resolves employee relation disputes as needed and follows all Company policies and procedures in providing adequate documentation of all such actions
  • Remains up to date with changing trends in the industry and within customer service 
  • Other duties as assigned
